otherwise:

1. 다른 방식으로 other(다른)+wise(방식으로)

*wise: ~면에서는 ex)business-wise: 사업 관련해서는, health-wise 건강 면에서는

~한 방식으로 ex) clockwise 시계 방향으로, likewise: 비슷한 방식으로, 마찬가지로

A: I think it's a good idea, 좋은 의견 같아. B: well, he thinks otherwise. 글쎄, 그는 다르게 생각해.

Everyone says otherwise. 모두들 다르게 이야기 해.

The instructions say otherwise. 설명서엔 다르게 적혀있는데.

2. 만약 그렇지 않으면

Let me write that down; otherwise, I might forget it. 그걸 적어놔야겠어. 그렇지 않으면 잊어버릴 거 같아.

We should leave now; otherwise, we'll be late. 우리 지금 출발해야 해. 그렇지 않으면 우리 늦을거야.

This has to work; otherwise, we'll be in trouble. 이거 정말 돼야 돼. 그렇지 않으면 우린 어려움에 처할거야.
