Subscription Services

In the past, "subscriptions" usually meant regular subscriptions to newspapers and magazines. But the meaning of "subscriptions" these days has expanded to cover a wide area.

예전에는 '구독'이 신문, 잡지 등을 정기 구독한다는 의미로 사용되었습니다. 그런데 최근에는 이 '구독'의 의미가 매우 넓게 확장되었습니다.

There's even a term now called the "Subscription Economy." This refers to economic activities where people make regular payments at a flat rate and continuously receive goods or services.

'구독 경제(Subscription Economy)라는 용어도 생겨났을 정도입니다. 이는 정액제를 통해 정기적으로 결제를 하고 지속적으로 물품이나 서비스를 받는 경제 활동을 말합니다.

I recently checked which services I have signed up for, and I found that I'm using quite a lot of them. I have about 20 subscriptions, including media content, social media, online shopping, cloud services, and Al services.

최근에 제가 가입한 구독 서비스들을 한번 확인해 봤더니, 생각보다 정말 많은 구독을 하고 있었습니다. 미디어 콘텐츠, SNS, 온라인 쇼핑, 클라우드 서비스, AI 서비스 등 대략 20개 정도 되는 것 같습니다.

Using subscription services makes life more convenient in many ways. You can receive various discounts and membership benefits, so I plan to keep using them in the future.

구독 서비스를 이용하면 여러모로 생활이 더 편리해집니다. 다양한 할인과 멤버십 혜택도 받을 수 있어서 앞으로도 지속적으로 이용할 예정입니다

A : I find myself subscribing to all sorts of things these days. ​요즘 이것저것 많이 구독하게 되네요.

B : Same here. 저도 그래요.

A : I made a list, and I realized | have at least 20 subscriptions. 저는 세어 보니 적어도 20개는 되는 것 같아요.

B : I think I have about that many, too. 저도 그 정도 되지 싶어요.

A : When I add them all up, the monthly subscription fees come out to be quite a lot. 다 합해 보면, 월 구독료가 제법 큰 금액이더라고요.

B : That's true, but I feel like it's worth it.​ 맞아요. 그런데 그만한 가치가 있는 것 같아요.
