Package Tours

 

My husband and I don't have much experience with traveling. So, we've usually opted for package or group tours rather than self-guided tours.

우리 부부는 여행 경험이 별로 없다. 그래서 자유 여행보다는 패키지 여행이나 단체 여행을 주로 선택해 왔다.

Recently, we went on a package tour with our children to Vietnam's Da Nang. The trip was being sold on a TV home shopping channel. The guide suggested optional tours that required extra fees beyond the scheduled itinerary. I was caught off guard because | hadn't expected this. Fortunately, our children had a blast doing optional activities like the "basket boat" ride and the "Ao Dai show."

최근에 아이들과 함께 TV 홈쇼핑에서 판매하는 베트남 다낭 패키지 여행을 다녀왔다. 가이드는 예정된 일정 외에 추가 비용을 부담해야 하는 선택 관광을 제안했다. 이를 예상하지 못했던 나는 매우 당황 했다. 다행히 우리 아이들은 '바구니 배' 타기, '아오자이 쇼' 등 선택 관광을 매우 즐거워했다.

 

But doing the optional activities in addition to the scheduled itinerary was physically exhausting. Plus, the cost was the same for both children and adults, so the extra expenses added up. Next time, l'd like to plan ahead and try a self-guided trip, so we can enjoy plenty of downtime.

​하지만 예정된 기본 일정 외에 선택 관광까지 한다는 것은 체력적으로 부담이 되었다. 게다가 아이들과 성인의 비용이 동일했기 때문에 추가로 지불한 여행 경비도 상당하였다. 다음에는 미리 준비해서 휴식도 충분히 즐길 수 있는 자유 여행을 가 보고 싶다.

B: Yes, we took a package tour to Vietnam. 네, 베트남으로 패키지 여행을 갔어요.

A: I see. 그러셨군요.

B: But the schedule was a bit tight, so it was a little rough on the kids. 그런데 일정이 다소 빡빡해서 아이들이 조금 힘들어했어요.

A: That can happen, especially if you add optional activities. 특히 선택 관광을 추가하면 그럴 수 있어요.

B: That's what we did. I think we'll go on a self-guided trip next time. 저희가 그랬어요. 다음 번에는 자유 여행으로 가 볼까 해요.
