Dad : Sweetie, I checked your old shoes, and I had no idea they're all worn out. I'm really sorry I didn't notice earlier. 우리 딸, 네가 전에 신던 신발을 봤는데, 그렇게 다 해진 걸 아빠는 전혀 몰랐어. 더 일찍 알아차리지 못해서 정말 미안하구나.

Daughter: Oh, Dad, I feel bad too for asking for those expensive shoes.아빠, 저도 비싼 신발 사 달라고 해서 죄송해요.

Dad : No need to feel bad, kiddo. We'll find you some comfortable shoes within our budget. 죄송할 거 없어, 우리 딸. 우리 생활비 내에서 편한 신발을 찾아 줄게.

Daughter : Oh, thanks, Dad! You're the best!오, 고마워요, 아빠! 아빠 최고!

Memories with my Father 아버지와의 추억

 

My father is quite a family man when I was in school. I have more memories with my dad that I do with my mom, who wasn't as affectionate. When I was in middle schol, whenever exam season ended, my dad used to take me shopping at Dongdaemun's early morning market. Buying clothes and shoes late at night with my dad was really exciting.

 

Even during high schol, whenever I returned from the library in the early hours, my dad always made the stew I liked. He waited for me no matter what time it was. Now that I have my own children, I think I'm starting to fully grasp that the depth of a father's love is as vast as the ocean.

 

My father is approaching seventy. Seeing the wrinkles on his face pains my heart. My only wish is that he will remain in good health and stay with us for a long time.

 

나의 학창 시절에 우리 아빠는 꽤나 가정적이셨다. 나는 무뚝뚝한 엄마보다 오히려 아빠와의 추억이 더 많다. 내가 중학생 시절, 아빠는 시험 기간이 끝나는 날이면 나를 데리고 동대문 새벽 시장에 쇼핑을 하러 가 주셨다. 꽤 늦은 밤에 아빠와 함께 옷을 사고 신발을 사는 것이 무척 설레었다.

 

고등학생 때도 내가 새벽에 도서관에서 돌아올 때마다 아빠는 항상 내가 좋아하는 찌개를 끓여주셨다. 그게 몇 시든 아빠는 나를 기다려 주셨다. 나도 이제 자식을 낳아 키워 보니 아빠 사랑의 깊이가 바다와 같다는 것을 알 것 같다.

 

지금 아빠는 칠순을 앞두고 계시다. 아빠 얼굴에 있는 주름을 보면 내 마음 한 편이 아려 온다. 건강하게 오래 우리 곁에 함께 계셨으면 하는 바람뿐이다.
