Drum Lessons
I learned to play the drums for a year. I started at a young age because a family member had learned the drums first. Out of envy, I decided to give it a try myself. I was shorter than my friends and worried that it might be a problem, but I discovered that the drum stool and other equipment could be adjusted to my height, making it easy to learn.
저는 1년간 드럼을 배웠습니다. 어린 나이에 드럼을 배우게 된 이유는 가족 중 한 명이 드럼을 먼저 배웠기 때문입니다. 부러운 마음에 저도 한번 배워 보기로 했습니다. 제가 친구들보다 키가 작아서 문제가 될까 봐 걱정했는데, 알고 보니 드럼 의자나 다른 장비 등을 제 키에 맞게 조절할 수 있어서 쉽게 배 울 수 있었습니다.
A drum set includes the snare drum, bass drum, and the small, mid, and floor toms. The cymbals are comprised of the hi-hat and crash cymbal. The snare drum is used most frequently. The small tom produces a medium pitch, the mid tom a slightly lower pitch, and the floor tom the lowest pitch among the drums.
드럼은 스네어 드럼, 베이스 드럼, 스몰, 미들, 플로어탐이 있습니다. 심벌은 하이햇과 크래쉬 심벌로 구성되어 있습니다. 스네어 드럼은 보통 가장 많이 치는 드럼이고, 스몰은 보통 소리, 미들은 조금 낮은 소리, 플로어탐은 드럼 중에서 가장 낮은 음을 냅니다.
The bass drum is played with the foot using a pedal. It provides the beat and produces a very low sound. The crash cymbal makes a loud, noisy sound, and the hi-hat helps keep the rhythm.
베이스 드럼은 페달을 사용해 발로 치는 드럼입니다. 박자를 잡아 주는 역할을 하고, 아주 낮은 음을 냅니다. 크래쉬 심벌은 큰 소리를 내고, 하이햇은 박자를 유지하는 역할을 합니다.

B: Yes, that's right. I took lessons for a few months. 네, 맞아요. 몇 개월 동안 배웠어요.
A: I remember seeing a cool video of you playing the drums. 드럼 치는 멋진 영상을 봤던 기억이 나요.
B: I'm not taking lessons anymore because of my busy schedule. 지금은 바쁜 일정 때문에 레슨을 받고 있지 않아요.
A: Oh, I see. 아, 그렇군요.
B: But there is a band club at my school, so I am thinking of really getting into it again. 그런데 학교에 밴드부가 있어서, 다시 마음먹고 열심히 해 볼까 생각 중이에요.
