My Lost Wallet
I have a card wallet that a friend gifted me. I always kept it in my bag. One day, after handing a credit card to my husband in the car, my wallet went missing for three days. My husband searched the car thoroughly but said it wasn't there. *My husband turned the car upside down. 차 안을 샅샅이 뒤졌다.
나에게는 친구가 선물해 준 카드 지갑이 하나 있다. 가방에 항상 그 카드 지갑을 넣고 다녔다. 하루는 차에서 남편에게 카드를 꺼내 주고 내렸는데, 그 후 내 지갑이 3일째 안 보였다. 남편이 차 안을 샅샅이 다 찾아봤는데 없다고 했다.
I retraced my steps and called every place I had visited, including a restaurant, a hospital, and a pharmacy. I also went through my pockets and other bags, but the wallet was nowhere to be found. I felt so frustrated. I eventually gave up, reported my ID and credit cards missing, and applied to have them reissued.
나는 온 길을 되짚어 내가 갔던 식당, 병원, 약국에 모두 전화를 해 보았다. 그리고 옷 주머니들과 다른 가방들까지 확인해 봤지만, 지갑은 어디에서도 나오지 않았다. 정말 가슴이 답답했다. 결국 포기하고, 신분증과 신용 카드를 분실 신고하고 재발급 신청을 했다.
Then, my husband called me via video chat on his way home from work. He showed me the card wallet on the screen, and words can't express how happy I was. It had slipped into a gap between the car seats, out of view. Now that(~했으니 말인데) l've found my card wallet again, I hope to use it for another ten years.
그런데 남편이 퇴근길에 영상 통화를 걸어 왔다. 화면으로 카드 지갑을 비춰 주는데, 얼마나 기뻤는지 말로 다 못한다. 자동차 의자 틈 사이에 빠져서 안 보였던 것이었다. 이제 다시 찾은 내 카드 지갑을 앞으로 10년은 더 쓰고 싶다.

A: Where was it? 어디서 나왔어요?
B: It turned out to be in the car. It was wedged in a spot out of view. 결국 차 안에서 나왔어요. 잘 안 보이는 곳에 끼어 있었어요.
A: That's such a relief. 정말 다행이네요.
B: It's so special to me that I almost cried when I finally found it. 너무 아끼는 지갑이어서 마침내 찾았을 때 눈물이 다 날 정도였어요.
