A Cruise for Dad's Birthday

To celebrate my father's 70th this year, my family and I went on a cruise to Singapore. This trip was even more special because my children were with us. One of my father's old friends joined us, too. I felt a great sense of responsibility as my husband and I planned the trip.

올해 아버지의 칠순을 기념하여 가족들과 함께 싱가포르로 크루즈 여행을 다녀왔습니다. 이번 여행은 저희 아이들과 함께하는 여행이라 의미가 더 남달랐습니다. 아버지의 오랜 친구분도 함께하는 여행이어서, 저는 깊은 책임감을 가지고 남편과 함께 여행 계획을 세웠습니다.

Every evening on the cruise, my father enjoyed a drink with his friend, reminiscing about the past. He had a great time, and it made me happy to see him like that. I always relied on my parents and received help from them in the past, but now I feel like it's my turn to take good care of them.

​아버지는 매일 저녁 크루즈선에서 친구분과 술 한잔을 기울이시며 옛날 이야기를 나누셨습니다. 아버지가 즐거워하시는 모습이 저는 너무 보기 좋았습니다. 예전에는 제가 늘 부모님께 의지하고 도움을 받기만 했다면, 지금은 제가 부모님을 잘 보살펴 드려야겠다는 생각이 듭니다.

One night, after my father had a drink and fell into a deep sleep, I couldn't help but give him a peck on the cheek. I hope my parents will stay healthy so we can go on a family trip for their 80th birthday as well.

​어느 날 밤, 술 한잔하시고 곤히 잠드신 아버지의 모습에 저도 모르게 볼에 입맞춤을 하였습니다. 부모님이 항상 건강하셔서 팔순 때도 함께 가족 여행을 가고 싶습니다.
