Language Exchange Apps

When I'm bored, I often use a lanuage exchange app as part of my English learning. Users from all over the world can use this app to learn the language they want and make friends online. It's a good way to learn English without getting stressed out.

나는 심심할 때마다 영어 공부의 일환으로 언어 교환 앱을 종종 이용한다. 전 세계의 사용자들은 이 앱을 통해 배우고 싶은 언어를 배우며 온라인 친구들을 만들 수 있다. 스트레스를 받지 않고 영어를 학습하기에 좋은 방법 중 하나이다.

Users sometimes ask people to go over their compositions,and teach their native language to others. Enthusiastic users set up video chat roomㄴ in the language they are learning to communicate with native speakers. Some even take excerpts from news articles and read them out loud.

사용자들은 자신의 작문을 첨삭해 달라고 요청하기도 하고, 자신들의 모국어를 다른 사람들에게 알려주기도 한다. 적극적인 사용자들은 학습 중인 언어로 음성 태칭방을 개설하여 원어민들과 의사소통을 하기도 한다. 때로는 뉴스 기사에서 가져 온 구절을 낭독하는 이들도 있다.

Explaining Korean to foreigners in English turned out to be harder that you'd think. But thanks to these efforts, I'm killing two birds with one stone, improving both my English and Korean at the same time.

한국어를 외국인에게 영어로 설명하는 것은 예상 외로 만만치 않았다. 하지만 이러한 노력 덕분에 영어와 한국어를 동시에 향상시키는 일석이조의 학습 효과를 누리고 있다.

B: I've been using a launguage exchange app. It's a lot of fun! 언어 교환 앱을 활용하고 있어요. 무척 재미있어요!

A: Is it difficult to use? 사용하기 어렵지 않아요?

B: The app is very user-friendly, but it can be challenging to explain Korean to foreign users. 앱은 사용하기가 쉬운데, 한국어를 외국인 사용자에게 설명하는 게 어려울 수도 있어요.

A: Oh, I see. 그렇군요.

B: But my English composition skills also improve during the process, so it's all good! 하지만 설명하는 과정에서 영작 실력도 향상되니 문제 되지는 않아요.
