Tuning In To "입트영"

 

I decided to spend a month in Germany, where my daughter is studying abroad. I made a firm promise to myself to continue tuning in to the original broadcast of "입트영" even while I was in Germany. So, I made sure not to forget the "입트영" monthly magazine when I packed for my trip.

​나는 딸이 유학 생활을 하고 있는 독일에서 한 달 살기를 하기로 했다. 독일에 가서도 '입트영' 본방사수를 계속하겠다고 스스로 마음을 굳게 먹었다. 그래서 여행 짐을 싸면서 '트영' 월간지 교재를 잊지 않고 넣었다.

"입트영" airs at 11:40 PM German time. Starting the day after I arrived, I continued my routine of listening to the broadcast. Since I arrived in the middle of the month, I couldn't bring the following month's study material with me. But my youngest daughter, who was in Korea, took pictures of the content and sent them to me, one week at a time.

​'입트영' 본방은 독일 시간으로 밤 11시 40분에 방송된다. 나는 도착한 다음 날부터, 본방사수 루틴을 이어 갔다. 월 중순에 독일로 오는 바람에 다음 달 교재는 챙겨 오지 못했다. 하지만 한국에 있는 막내 딸이 교재 내용을 일주일치씩 사진으로 찍어서 보내 주었다.

 

Before the broadcast, I wrote out(모두 빠짐없이 다 적다/완성하다) all the content in the book by hand and studied it thoroughly. And after the broadcast, I finished my day by recording my own recitation. I was amazed and grateful that I could keep up with the broadcasts even while I was abroad.

​본방을 듣기 전, 나는 교재의 모든 내용을 미리 필사하고 꼼꼼히 익혔다. 그리고 방송을 다 듣고 나서는, 내 낭독을 녹음하며 하루 일과를 마쳤다. 외국에 나가서도 본방사수를 계속할 수 있다는 것이 신기하기도 하고 감사하기도 했다.

B: Of course! I made a firm promise to myself that I would do it this year. 그럼요! 올해 그렇게 하기로 스스로 굳게 약속했거든요.

A: It airs at 6:40 in the morning, right? 새벽 6시 40분에 방송하죠?

B: Yes, but I wake up at 6:00 to do some prep work beforehand. 네, 하지만 저는 6시에 일어나서 미리 예습을 해요.

A: That's incredible dedication. 대단한 열정이시네요.

B: It has become a routine for me, so something feels off if I skip even a single day. 이게 루틴이 되어서 하루라도 안 하면 뭔가 허전한 느낌이 들어요.
